  7. The Ten X Optical Conversion Unit, OCU, is a SCSI hardware caching interface
  8. for optical disks. The OCU supports virtually all optical disks on the market,
  9. including WORM, Rewritable, and Multi-function. Using the OCU, optical disks
  10. appear just like a standard hard disk to SCO UNIX users. No special software
  11. drivers are needed, and the OCU allows SCO UNIX users to use standard operating
  12. system commands for optical subsystem operation. Features of the OCU include
  13. data caching and buffering, firmware or hardware based data compression,
  14. battery backed-up cache, and access to historical data through a timestamp
  15. feature. The OCU is available packaged with an optical disk or as an OEM
  16. product.
